Our Beekeeping Solutions

At Heritage Hives, we are passionate about fostering sustainable beekeeping through a practice known as “wilding.” Using Langstroth hives, we provide a structured yet natural environment for honey bees, focusing on restoring them to their natural nesting habitats and ecosystems. This wilding method allows bees to thrive as vital pollinators in harmony with nature, rather than managing them solely as livestock.

If you have space on your property and are interested in hosting beehives, we’d love to partner with you. Our approach is simple and inspired by nature’s rhythms, much like fishing. During swarm season, typically from late February to June, we set up an empty bait hive to attract wild bees seeking a new home. Once the bees settle in, we provide ongoing monthly care to ensure their health and vitality.

While honey production typically begins in the second year, our clients enjoy 75-80% of the honey crop each season, with the amount varying based on the bees’ productivity and environmental conditions. Our focus is on keeping your bees thriving as they pollinate and enhance the surrounding ecosystem. Whether you have a garden, orchard, or simply a passion for supporting local biodiversity, our bees will help your landscape flourish.
